Dagenham re-ignited their play-off ambitions with an excellent 3-1 victory over Aldershot.

Convincing home win for Still's men

Dagenham re-ignited their play-off ambitions with an excellent 3-1 victory over Aldershot. It was the visitors who scored first though as Danny Hylton fired a screamer into the top corner after seven minutes. The Daggers should have been ahead themselves, but Sam Saunders and Ben Strevens both missed chances, although they were level just before the break as Paul Benson nodded home after Matt Ritchie's volley hit the post. After the break, home keeper Tony Roberts made a fine save from Lewis Chalmers' header, but the hosts went in front on the hour when Sam Saunders rifled a penalty home after handball in the area. And the home side swiftly made sure of the points, as Glen Southam's drive was only palmed clear by Nikki Bull and Ritchie was there to slot the rebound into the far corner. The Shots could have salvaged a consolation in the closing stages, but Robinson was denied by a point-blank save by Roberts and substitute Rob Elvins fired well over.
