Macc hoping to sink Mariners
Grimsby will be hoping to end the season in style when they entertain Macclesfield on Saturday.
The Mariners have endured a desperately disappointing campaign, only avoiding relegation out of the Football League by the narrowest of margins.
Macclesfield also have little to play for as they bring the curtain down on a lacklustre campaign of their own, but they will not want to bow out with a whimper.
Grimsby team news
Striker Nathan Jarman is set to sit out Grimsby's crunch clash.
The 22-year-old jarred a knee in training on Thursday morning and is not expected to be risked by manager Mike Newell, who is also without suspended duo Danny Boshell and Joe Widdowson.
The pair were sent off in the 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth last Saturday which, while a loss, helped to seal the club's safety in League Two.
Adrian Forbes should come in to replace Jarman, with Adam Proudlock also hoping to be selected, while James Hunt should start in midfield.
A number of players, including Forbes, Barry Conlon, Peter Sweeney and Wayne Henderson will all be making the final appearances of their respective loan spells, with it yet to be confirmed if any of them will return to Blundell Park next season.
Macclesfield team news
Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander again looks set to field a side packed with youngsters as he looks to next season.
Kristian Dennis, Christian Miller, Gareth Evans, John Rooney, Izak Reid and Shaun Brisley all featured in last weekend's win over Barnet.
Teenage striker Dennis scored his first senior goal to add a silver lining to a disappointing season as Macclesfield beat the Bees 2-1.
Striker Simon Yeo could remain sidelined with a knee injury and defensive duo Rikki Bains and James Jennings are both still out with their own knee problems.
Veteran striker Yeo has hinted that this season will be his last as a player and looks set to retire.
He is out of contract at the end of the campaign and Alexander has begun planning for next year without him.
