Serbs take another step towards South Africa

Serbia reaffirmed their dominance of World Cup Group Seven with a comfortable 2-0 victory over minnows Faroe Islands. The win moves the Serbs eight points clear of France at the top of the group albeit having played two games more. Milan Jovanovic opened the scoring for the away side on 43 minutes after a battling first half display from the Faroe Islands. Neven Subotic doubled the lead on 62 minutes as Radomir Antic's side took another step towards qualification for South Africa next year. Faroe Islands remain rooted to the bottom of the group with just one point from five games in yet another struggling campaign.
