Baggies midfielder rejoins former club on loan

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Borja Valero has completed his return to Real Mallorca on a season-long loan. Valero joined the Baggies from Mallorca last summer in a club record £4.7million deal and he made 34 appearances under Tony Mowbray last season. However, Roberto Di Matteo's appointment at the Hawthorns saw Valero fall down the pecking order and he had made just two appearances this term. Di Matteo confirmed last month that two Spanish clubs had expressed an interest in taking Valero back to La Liga. Valero was keen to rejoin his former club and finalised his switch back to Mallorca before the close of the Spanish transfer window. Mallorca also have the option to sign the 24-year-old on a permanent basis if he enjoys a productive campaign.
