Wainwright to spend a month on loan at Barrow
Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy is hoping experienced winger Neil Wainwright will benefit from a loan spell at Barrow.
Wainwright has made just three appearances for Morecambe this term after an injury curtailed his involvement in pre-season.
He will spend the next month in the Conference with Barrow and McIlroy expects the 31-year-old to come back to Christie Park a sharper player.
"Neil's injury over the summer meant he missed all the pre-season and he needs competitive games," McIlroy told the club's official website.
"I am sure he will benefit from this move."
Wainwright, who joined Morecambe on a two-year deal from Darlington in 2008, could make his Barrow debut in Saturday's game at Salisbury.
