Moratti insists teenage striker is not for sale

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti insists the club will not be looking to sell Mario Balotelli in January. The 19-year-old frontman has been strongly linked with a move away from Giuseppe Meazza of late, with Arsenal believed to be among those tracking his availability. The buccaneering frontman is widely regarded as a potential star of the future, with a few rough edges needing to be ironed out before he can be considered a European star. Inter are hoping that they will be the ones to benefit from his considerable talents in the future, having snapped him up from lower league Lumezzane in 2007. Despite his lack of experience, the Italy U21 international has become a regular in the first-team fold at Inter over recent years. He has been forced to share striking duties with Samuel Eto'o and Diego Milito this season, but accepts that competition is part of modern football.

Behaviour

Balotelli was left out by Jose Mourinho for Sunday's 1-0 win over Fiorentina after reporting late for training in the build-up to the game, but that issue is reported to have been laid to rest. The youngster has expressed no desire to move away from Milan any time soon and Moratti has confirmed that he has no plans to sanction a sale during the January transfer window. "Balotelli is not on the market and he will not be in January," said the Inter supremo. "Mario is a young boy who needs to adjust his behaviour to suit his team-mates and the coach. "It's only a matter of time before that happens and I believe there are no problems. There is no chance of him being sold."
