Dons edge 10-man Chair Boys

Image: Luke Moore: Got the winner

Luke Moore's first-half header was enough to give AFC Wimbledon a 1-0 victory over Wycombe, their first win of the new season.

Despite having a man advantage after the sending off of Wycombe's captain Stuart Lewis, the hosts produced a nervy second-half showing but did just enough for the three points Wycombe were left fuming in the 34th minute when Lewis' challenge on George Porter was deemed worthy of a red card by referee Gavin Ward. And within three minutes, Wimbledon were ahead as Moore flicked Callum Kennedy's cross into the far corner with a precise header but it was a deserved lead for the hosts at the time. Despite being a man light, the visitors almost drew level before half-time as Jon-Paul Pittman brought down Sam Wood's pass before producing a good save from Ross Worner. The second half passed almost without incident but Chris Arthur almost produced a glorious second goal in stoppage time for Wimbledon when his chip came back off the bar with Matt Ingram stranded.
