Reims remained unbeaten at home thanks to a second-half Nicolas de Preville equaliser in the 1-1 draw against newly-promoted Guingamp. An Anthony Weber own goal gifted Guingamp an early lead that Reims were only able to cancel out through De Preville once they improved in the second half. A winner was not forthcoming to leave Reims seventh in the Ligue 1 table. Guingamp had not scored away from home in their first two away games since promotion and were indebted to a slice of luck as Weber put the ball into his own net with five minutes played. Fatig Atik freed Mustapha Yatabare down the flank and his cross was too much for the unlucky Weber who conspired to hand Guingamp the lead. It could have been worse for Reims, though, as they failed to muster any sort of significant threat in the first period. Guingamp had the best chances with Atik picking out Thibault Giresse at the front post and when he shot instantly it took a low reaction save from goalkeeper Kossi Agassa to keep it out. Giresse forced another block from Agassa on the half-hour, this time after being teed up by Jeremy Sorbon, but the resultant corner came to nothing. Reims could have drawn level in third place before kick-off but it was not until five minutes after half-time that they went close, Odair Fortes shooting inches wide after De Preville's assist. The hosts got their leveller on 58 minutes in scrappy circumstances. A Floyd Ayite corner was cleared back to him by Lionel Mathis at the near post and with his second attempt this time found De Preville to bundle the ball in from close range. Both sides had a chance to win it with Mustapha Yatabare's 20-yard snap-shot drawing a full-stretch save from Agassa while Atila Turan's first-time effort at the other end was hacked away.
