Giannis Antetokounmpo produced a mammoth 43-point, 18-rebound performance but it was not enough as the Milwaukee Bucks lost to East rivals the Toronto Raptors.
Antetokounmpo's game-high haul came on 16-of-25 shooting in 39-and-a-half minutes of play. Though considered a weak three-point shooter, he made three of his five shots from beyond the arc.
The 'Greek Freak' started fast, backing down Pascal Siakam in the post before laying the ball home and drawing a foul from help defender Serge Ibaka. He followed that up with a two-handed dunk on the fast break after being fed by team-mate Eric Bledsoe.
A trademark pacey full court drive earned Antetokounmpo another deuce in the second quarter and he added a powerful dunk off an offensive rebound, a floater for a three-point play and an athletic alley-oop lay-in before half-time.
The second half saw Giannis provide more highlight plays, notably a three-quarter alley-oop finish after cut along the baseline. With the Bucks bidding the fight back in the fourth quarter, he poured in 17 points featuring two three-pointers, a jump hook and a Euro-step lay-up that drew a foul for an 'And 1'.
But the Raptors held off the Bucks' charge to prevail 123-116.
