Veteran forward drops down a division

Leigh Centurions have signed Hull FC utility player Martin Aspinwall on a one-year deal. The 30-year-old has been at the KC Stadium since 2011 and also represented Wigan, Huddersfield and Castleford. He started at loose forward in their Super League play-off defeat by Warrington on Saturday and Leigh coach Paul Rowley feels his signing is a real coup for the club. "Martin is a fantastic acquisition to an already strong squad," Rowley said. "He can cover several positions and has a wealth of top flight experience. He is a Wigan lad and excited at the opportunity of helping Leigh in our push for Super League." Leigh have also confirmed the departure of Tommy Gallagher and Dean McGilvray, who will not be offered new deals for 2013.
