Harlequins have signed Australian back-row forward Beau Robinson with immediate effect as injury dispensation cover for Netani Talei.
Robinson, 29, arrives at the Stoop from NSW County Eagles, a team he joined this year following five seasons with Super Rugby franchise Queensland Reds, where he played alongside his new Quins team-mate James Horwill.
He started his Super Rugby career with the Waratahs in 2006 and moved onto the Reds in 2011, helping them win the Super Rugby title in his first season before making his sole appearance for Australia against Samoa.
Robinson played more than 50 games for the Reds and is regarded as an aggressive competitor with an exceptional work rate in defence.
Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea said: "We are delighted to be able to bring in someone of Beau's ability at such short notice.
"We are looking forward to welcoming him to Harlequins, helping him settle into London life and see him make a big impact for the club for the rest of the season."
Robinson, who also started against the British and Irish Lions in a midweek match during the 2013 tour, said: "I'm excited to have joined Harlequins and to be presented with the opportunity to play alongside some world-class players.
"I'm looking forward to helping the club push for honours in both the Aviva Premiership and the European Challenge Cup."
Fiji international Talei sustained a significant knee injury earlier this season following his return to Harlequins after the World Cup.
