Australia international Drew Mitchell has announced he will retire at the end of the season.
Mitchell, 33, has been playing in France with Toulon since 2013 and he will now hang up his boots at the end of his contract this summer, having been linked with a return to Super Rugby.
The former Reds, Western Force and Waratahs player spent time in the international wilderness after joining Toulon, but a change in eligibility laws allowed him to reclaim his place ahead of the 2015 World Cup.
Injuries denied him the chance to add to his 71 caps this year and he has now confirmed it will be his last season in the professional ranks.
Mitchell will retire as Australia's leading World Cup tryscorer, having crossed for his 14th try during the 2015 tournament in England.
He wrote on Twitter: "So it's my turn to call time on my rugby career! I've been very lucky to have had the experiences I've had in our great game."
