Boks bring in Sharks number nine after Januarie quits
Sharks scrum-half Charl McLeod has been called up into South Africa's World Cup squad following the retirement of Ricky Januarie.
Januarie, who will join French Top 14 club Lyon next season, was initially called up to the Springboks' 49-man preliminary squad last week.
But the 2007 World Cup winner ruled himself out if contention by announcing his retirement from international rugby.
The move came as something of a shock from the 29-year-old, who has been capped 47 times for South Africa, prompting the Boks to turn to McLeod.
The 27-year-old is one of seven uncapped players who will join the Boks in Cape Town on Tuesday to begin preparations for the Tri-Nations and the defence of their World Cup title.
The South African Rugby Union announced on Wednesday that it will reveal its squad for the Tri-Nations on July 9.
