Rugby WA recommend Force star has his contract cancelled
Former Harlequins scrum-half Matt Henjak faces being dismissed after he was found guilty of his involvement in a barroom brawl with Haig Sare.
Henjak, who played at the Stoop in 2004, clashed with his Western Force team-mate nine days ago - with the incident leaving Saig with a broken jaw.
And a Rugby Western Australia conduct committee recommended on Tuesday that Henjak should have his contract be terminated.
The recommendation has now been passed on to the Australian Rugby Union for them to rule on the decision.
A RugbyWA statement read: "In addition to fighting in public, the committee was satisfied that he (Henjak) savagely punched Haig Sare when Haig was sitting down, vulnerable and unable to defend himself.
"The committee was unable to find any justification for that assault which probably caused Haig Sare's jaw to be broken.
"In light of the circumstances and in particular Matt Henjak's prior record, the committee recommended that the contract of Matt Henjak with the Western Force be terminated forthwith."
Although Sare was left with a broken jaw, he too was found guilty of fighting - however he was fined £2,350 and banned for eight weeks.
