WWE's August extravaganza always provides ample entertainment - and it was no different last year as Lesnar was outfoxed by The Undertaker at the end of their brutal brawl in Brooklyn.

Read on to relive SummerSlam 2015, a show on which John Cena was scuppered by a satirist and a comic-book hero 'Arrowed' in on Stardust…

Lenar loses to Taker; Sheamus stuns Orton

It's The Viper this year for Lesnar but it was The Phenom 12 months ago. Lesnar and The Undertaker matched each other blow for blow early in the bout - Lesnar administering multiple German Suplexes and F5s, The Undertaker clobbering his rival with a Chokeslam, a Last Ride and a Tombstone Piledriver - but the clash was decided by a low blow.

With Undertaker trapped in Lesnar's Kimura Lock, the timekeeper rang the bell to indicate that he had submitted, though with the referee not seeing the submission the match continued. With Lesnar celebrating his 'victory' and the officials bickering, Undertaker clocked The Beast downstairs.

Taker then claimed the win when Lesnar passed out while caught in the Hell's Gate, gaining revenge, of sorts, for The Anomaly shattering his undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30 the previous year. Lesnar responded at Hell in a Cell later in 2015, however, defeating Taker inside the metal structure to win their rivalry 2-1, an F5 onto the exposed wooden floorboards the feud's final act.

Randy Orton was also in action at the last year's SummerSlam - and like Lesnar he lost. The Apex Predator was foiled in his attempts to plant Sheamus with an RKO and went on to lose his one-on-one dustup with the Irishman after being cracked with two Brogue Kicks.

Stewart helps Rollins beat Cena

With Lesnar out of the world-title picture - Undertaker had prevented him winning the championship at Battleground - Seth Rollins defended sports entertainment's richest prize at SummerSlam against John Cena. That was not the only strap up for grabs, though, with Cena putting his United States Championship on the line in a winner-takes-all scenario. Rollins won it all.

Rollins didn't win it without help, though, and assistance came from an unlikely source - former Daily Show presenter Jon Stewart! SummerSlam host Stewart had shared unpleasant words with Rollins in the lead-up to the match, so when he made his way to the ring with a steel chair after referee had been floored, it seemed obvious he would aid Cena.

Except he didn't. Stewart clattered Cena with the chair before Rollins Pedigreed his rival onto the weapon to leave Brooklyn with two titles. The former Shield man could leave SummerSlam 2016 with gold, too, as he goes one-on-one with Ireland's Finn Balor for the Universal Championship. I wonder whether Stewart, or new current Daily Show presenter Trevor Noah, will lend a hand…

Arrow downs Stardust

Stewart was not the only celebrity to star at SummerSlam 2015, with actor Stephen Amell, star of DC's comic-book TV series Arrow, teaming with Neville to beat Stardust and King Barrett. Amell, more used to overcoming villains like Deathstroke and Dark Archer, impressed in the squared circle, too, taking out Stardust and Barrett with a diving crossbody.

Amell's beef with Stardust had begun when he guest starred on an episode of Raw and after being regularly provoked by his rival, Amell snapped one Monday night in early August after being shoved by the face-painted Superstar. The Canadian leapt into the ring to assault Stardust before begging Triple H to get his hands on him at SummerSlam.

New Day's dominance begins

You can't keep The New Day quiet at the best of times but they are impossible to silence now they are the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions off all time. Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston's mammoth stint with the straps - which is now in excess of 350 days - began at SummerSlam last year when they dethroned The Prime Time Players.

The New Day - who had shipped the titles to O'Neil and Young at Money in the Bank in June - were represented by Kingston and Big E, with Woods acting as chief support act at ringside, a job he fulfils so well! The bout was a Fatal Four-Way, with The Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores also hoping to scoop gold, but Kingston won it for his team by pinning Fernando.

Wyatts fall to Reigns, Ambrose

The last time Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose were in the ring together, at Battleground in July, the latter was pinning the former to regain the WWE Title and take it to Smackdown. Yet, The Lunatic Fringe and The Big Dog were allies at SummerSlam 2015, teaming up to take on bearded Wyatt Family bruisers Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper.

Wyatt always talks a good, if cryptic, game but he was outgunned by Ambrose and Reigns in Brooklyn - the Eater of Worlds blasted with Dirty Deeds after failing to connect with Sister Abigail and then speared and pinned by Reigns. The defeat led to Wyatt calling in a rather large reinforcement in the form of Braun Strowman, a man causing destruction on Raw to this day.

Ziggler, Rusev out for the count

Elsewhere at SummerSlam, Kevin Owens downed Cesaro in a match for pro-wrestling purists; and the Divas Revolution kicked off in earnest as Team PCB (Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch) knocked off Team B.A.D. (Sasha Banks, Naomi and Tamina) and Team Bella (The Bella Twins and Alicia Fox).

Plus, Dolph Ziggler and Rusev - who will battle for the WWE title and defend the United States title at this year's event respectively - fought to a double count-out, while Ryback - released from WWE earlier this month - retained the Intercontinental Title by beating Big Show and The Miz.
