David Price needed less than two rounds to restart his career after a 10-month absence.
The Liverpool heavyweight smashed Vaclaj Pejsar away on the undercard to Tony Bellew's world title fight against Ilunga Makabu at Goodison Park.
Price started sensibly behind his jab but, towards the end of the opener, he uncorked an uppercut that floored Pejsar and caused a blackened eye.
The Czech heard the bell to end the round but his night would still end painfully. Price restarted menacingly and landed the same punch again - this time, Pejsar was in no state to get off the canvas.
It was Price's first win since February of last year when he beat Irineu Beato Costa Jr in Germany, and marked the perfect comeback after his progress was stalled by defeats to Tony Thompson and Erkan Teper who both subsequently failed drug tests.
"What we've been working on has come to fruition," Price told Sky Sports.
"I decided to bulk up. I just feel that extra bit more solid and thicker and hopefully it's going to work out."
Elsewhere, Tom Farrell (9-0) won a 98-93 decision over 10 rounds against Manchester's Kofi Yates (13-2) in an eliminator for the English super-lightweight title.
Birkenhead's Sean 'Masher' Dodd won the WBC 'International' lightweight belt with a unanimous decision against Pasquale di Silvio.
