Mongolian Warrior give another chance for Prizefighter glory

Choi Tseveenpurev has been handed a second crack at Prizefighter glory. The Mongolian Warrior will be part of the Featherweights line-up for the £32,000 winner-takes-all tournament at York Hall on October 29th, live on Sky Sports HD. Choi, now 40, lost to Derry Mathews in the semi-final of last year's Super-Featherweight contest but has won three on the spin since then and is convinced dropping down a division will not stop him going all the way this time around. "I'm the Mongolian Warrior Choi," he said. "Matchroom and Spencer Fearon, my mange,r know I'm a throwback fighter not from the days of Rocky Marciano or Sugar Ray Robinson but from the days of Genghis Khan, when men were men. I'm here to knock them all out. Hard Knocks for life." Choi, will be far and away the most experienced man in the line-up, with a 37-fight pro career behind him, 32 of them ending inside the distance. He will be joined in the line-up by Irisman Mickey Coveney (12-13), unbeaten pair Lee Glover from Tipton (6-0) and Troy James of Coventry (9-0-1) and youngsters George Jupp of London (3-1) and Liverpool's Lee Jennings (5-2). The remaining two fighters in the eight-man draw will be confirmed closer to the date, while another Prizefighter Prospect will kick off proceedings in Bethnal Green. This time Londoner Andreas Evangelou will be looking for his third pro win in as many attempts.
