Groves ended a spell of inactivity with a win over Dario German Balmaceda earlier this month and he fights again, just two weeks later, at the GETEC Arena in Magdeburg.
The 24-year-old super-middleweight is targeting the winner of Abraham's WBO title defence against Stieglitz and will be hoping to impress with a convincing victory over Barakat.
"We are delighted to have added another highly-talented super-middleweight to the card," said promoter Kalle Sauerland. "He will impress the crowd with his exciting style, which has given him many KO wins."
Barakat, who is based in Germany, has an erratic record with 37 wins and 13 defeats, including a win over world title challenger Khoren Gevor, but he was beaten by faded Scottish veteran Scott Dixon last year.
Groves took just three rounds to halt Balmaceda and he should pick up another early stoppage win against Barakat.
