Colin Ingram smashed 89 off 48 balls as the Warriors chased down 183 to beat the Lions by six wickets in the Ram Slam T20 Challenge at Newlands.

Watch the highlights at the top of the page to see Ingram's brilliant knock, which included five fours and seven sixes.

Lions posted a formidable total, thanks largely to an opening stand of 87 off 66 balls between Rassie van der Dussen and Reeza Hendricks.

Van Der Dussen was the first man out for 45 but Hendricks, ably supported by Ryan Rickelton's 41 off 23 balls, went on to score 81 off 63 balls as the Lions posted 182-3 from their 20 overs.

In reply, the Warriors slipped to 13-2 with Kagiso Rabada dismissing JJ Smuts and Gihahn Cloete, who was on the receiving end of a stunning catch from Lions wicketkeeper Mangaliso Mosehle.

But that brought Ingram to the crease and the 32-year-old, who featured for Glamorgan last summer, powered his side back into the game.

He was awarded a reprieve in the 14th over when caught on the boundary off the bowling of Rabada, but the decision was overturned with the fielder's foot adjudged to have touched the boundary line.

Alongside Christiaan Jonker (39 off 28 balls), Ingram took his side to within 19 runs of victory before being dismissed by Rabada, before a combination of Lesiba Ngoepe (10) and Jerry Nqolo(12no) saw the Warriors home for their first victory of the campaign.

The Ram Slam action continues on Wednesday with the Lions back in action against the Titans (3.55pm, Sky Sports Cricket).
