County Championship: Matt Henry takes 12 wickets as Kent cruise to two-day victory over Durham

Matt Henry took match figures of 12-73 as Kent eased to a nine-wicket victory over Durham inside two days in Specsavers County Championship Division Two.

Henry claimed a career-best 7-45 in Durham's second innings as the hosts were dismissed for 170 at Emirates Riverside, having been 39-7 before No 9 batsman James Weighell (84) showed resistance. SCORECARD

Darren Stevens (2-55) dismissed Graham Clark and Paul Collingwood for ducks, while Harry Podmore, a winter signing from Middlesex, accounted for Matty Potts, who dug in to score 36 in just his sixth first-class game.

Kent, set 93 for victory, lost Sean Dickson for three but Daniel Bell-Drummond (45no) and Heino Kuhn (36no) eased the visitors home before tea as they rebounded from defeat to Gloucestershire last week.

Elsewhere in Division Two, Australian batsman Shaun Marsh (111) scored a century on his Glamorgan debut as the Welsh county closed on 296-5 in reply to Gloucestershire's 236 all out. SCORECARD

Michael Burgess (101no) struck his second first-class ton and Ishant Sharma hit 66 as Sussex racked up 438-8 declared at Leicestershire - Ishant then claimed two wickets before Colin Ackermann scored an unbeaten 61 as the Foxes ended on 112-2. SCORECARD

Derbyshire are bossing their game against Middlesex after reaching 118-0 in their second innings - Ben Slater (63no) helping the hosts to a lead of 226 - after Duanne Olivier (4-26) had bundled the 2016 champions out for 157. SCORECARD

In Divison One, defending champions Essex set Lancashire 320 to win after posting 313 all out in their second innings - James Foster (69) and Simon Harmer (49) sharing an eighth-wicket stand of 103.

Harmer (5-46) and Jamie Porter (5-26) had earlier completed five-wicket hauls as Essex dismissed Lancashire for 150 to carve out a six-run lead on first innings at Chelmsford. SCORECARD

Rikki Clarke (4-39) and Sam Curran (4-39) shared eight wickets as Surrey took control of Hampshire at the Oval after bowling the visitors out for 147 - Clarke trapping James Vince (6) and Hashim Amla (55) lbw. SCORECARD

Surrey, who scored 211 in their first innings, increased their advantage to 281 by stumps - Mark Stoneman fell for 24 but fifties for Scott Borthwick (75) and Ben Foakes (50no) lifted the Londoners to 217-4.

Ross Taylor's first fifty for Nottinghamshire could not prevent the visitors conceding a 68-run first-innings deficit at Yorkshire, as Ben Coad (4-49) helped dismiss them for 188. SCORECARD

Gary Ballance then notched an unbeaten 76 after Jake Ball had claimed two wickets as the Tykes closed on 189-4 to extend their lead to 257.

Somerset's Matt Renshaw failed to back-up his first-innings century with the Australian making just seven second time around against Worcestershire in the sides' clash at Taunton. SCORECARD

James Hildreth was in the runs, though, hitting 111 as Tom Abell's side ended day two on 255-9 to lead by 278 - Ed Barnard, who top scored with 50 in Worcestershire's 179 all out, bagging 5-37 for the Pears.
