Yorkshire claimed the three wickets they needed to claim a 95-run County Championship win over Roses rivals Lancashire at Headingley, taking a huge step towards avoiding relegation in the process.

Relegation-threatened Lancashire had been set a target of 230 for victory in their second innings and started the final day on 109-7.

Departing pace bowler Jack Brooks accounted for both Keshav Maharaj and Graham Onions to finish with figures of 4-47 in the second innings and a match haul of 9-113.

Ben Coad (5-24) wrapped up the victory after dismissing Josh Bohannon for 13 in the 49th over.

Trent Bridge.

The Indian Test opener, who played in the first two matches of the recent series against England, followed up his first innings score of 56 with a match-winning contribution of exactly 100.

An unbeaten half-century from Harvey Hosein and 62 from Wayne Madsen helped Derbyshire secure successive championship wins with a one-wicket victory at Northamptonshire.

The hosts had resumed on 198-8 before Tony Palladino wrapped things up with two wickets in six deliveries, leaving a target of 233.

After reaching lunch at 85-1, Madsen brought up his half-century before Northants hit back with four wickets for 24 runs.

However, Alex Hughes (28) and Hosein (54 not out) steadied the ship as Derbyshire prevailed.
