Michael Smith defeated Michael van Gerwen in Muelheim on Sunday to retain the European Darts Trophy and win a second European Tour title this year.
Smith beat Kevin Painter, Mervyn King and Ian White on the final day at the RWE Sporthalle before saving his best for the final to see off the world No 1.
The game was a repeat of the tournament's 2014 final when Smith defeated the Dutchman, this year's win also giving him a third career European Tour title.
Having defeated Painter 6-4 in the afternoon, Smith began his evening session with a 6-2 victory over King, finishing with a superb 144 checkout.

The Bully Boy, who won the International Darts Open in Riesa earlier this year, secured his spot in another European Tour final with a 6-3 win over White.
The 24-year-old from St Helens then produced a brilliant display to take the £25,000 top prize as he brushed van Gerwen aside in the final.
In a blistering start, Smith landed three 100+ checkouts and two 12-darters in the opening four legs as he raced into a 4-0 lead. Van Gerwen found himself without a leg to his name despite averaging 116.56.
Although the world No 1 hit back to register two legs, Smith was too strong and closed out the victory in just 12 minutes, landing double 14 in the final leg.
Until that point, Van Gerwen had looked in imperious form on the final day, dropping just two legs before the match with Smith as he followed up successive whitewash wins over Jason Lovett and Dave Chisnall with a 6-2 victory against Peter Wright.
The 2015 European Tour continues next weekend with the European Darts Matchplay in Innsbruck, Austria.
