Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo and Fernando Alonso are among five drivers who will start Sunday's Russian GP among the grid's back rows owing to engine penalties.
Both Red Bulls, McLaren's Alonso, plus the two Toro Rossos have replaced multiple engine parts on their respective cars and exceeded the maximum 15 penalty places - locking all five into back-of-the-field starts.
The FIA will confirm after qualifying on Saturday evening the order in which they will line up in at the back of the field.
For Red Bull, the latest penalties have been triggered after the team reverted to engine supplier Renault's B-spec engine after running the newer C-spec in recent races. Verstappen said the unusual move was due to the fact the C-spec is thought to have more vulnerabilities at races where the tracks are at higher altitude, such as Mexico next month.
But Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul, while saying the engine change was "pre-planned" with Red Bull, said of Verstappen's remarks: "I don't agree with those comments."
Meanwhile, sister team Toro Rosso are running upgraded Honda units this weekend as the Japanese manufacturer continues to chase performance before adding the senior Red Bull team to its stable next year.
