Organisers of the Korean Grand Prix are readying their new Yeongam circuit ahead of an FIA track inspection in just under three weeks' time.
There has been speculation as to whether the country's inaugural race, which is scheduled to take place on October 24, will go ahead because of construction delays.
The track's surface has come in for particular scrutiny, although promoters the Korea Auto Valley Operation claim the venue is now "90 per cent complete".
They are due to hold their first track event this weekend entitled 'Circuit Run 2010', which features Hispania Racing driver Karun Chandhok behind the wheel of a Red Bull Racing car.
The event is to commemorate the 50-day countdown to the race, although an inspection by FIA safety delegate Charlie Whiting on September 21 will determine whether the grand prix itself will go ahead.
An FIA spokeswoman said: "The FIA has been receiving weekly updates from their inspector in Korea and the construction company with regards to the track and its safety installations.
"The FIA is satisfied with the progress, even though a lot of work remains to be completed.
"A final track inspection by the FIA safety delegate will take place on September 21."
