Stalemate between strugglers

Accrington were frustrated as 10-man Barnet held them to a 1-1 draw in a battle of two League Two strugglers. It had all looked good for the Bees after they took the lead after six minutes when 40-year-old Paul Furlong opened his Barnet account, heading home Albert Adomah's right-wing cross. But they then faced an uphill battle after 14 minutes when left-back Kenny Gillet lunged at winger Chris Turner and was shown a straight red card. Stanley forced all the pressure against the 10 men but struggled to really test keeper Ran Kadoch until they finally made the breakthrough in the 56th minute. Teenager Turner surged forward on the right and played in a perfect cross which Paul Mullin slid home from four yards out for his seventh goal of the season. John Miles then saw his shot tipped over by Kadoch and on-loan Kallum Higginbotham wasted a good chance for Stanley as they launched everything at the Barnet goal - but had to settle for a point.
