Colby Bishop took his goal tally to 12 for the season as Accrington ended Portsmouth’s 10-game unbeaten run with a 4-1 victory.
Pompey took the lead through Ronan Curtis but then an Ellis Harrison own goal was followed up with goals from Dion Charles and Bishop's brace and the Reds also hit the woodwork twice.
The visitors took the lead after 35 minutes when a Marcus Harness cross found the head of Curtis whose effort hit the inside of the post and bounced in.
Fulham loan defender Jerome Opoku's fierce strike hit the post before the Reds equalised on 44 minutes when a Joe Pritchard corner was headed into his own goal by Harrison.
Stanley then took charge with three goals after the break. Striker Charles got the ball in the area from Opoku, took it past one defender and fired through Craig Macgillvray's legs on 62 minutes.
Pritchard hit the woodwork three minutes later before Stanley made it three on 69 minutes when Sam Finley's shot was saved and Bishop was there to fire home the rebound.
Bishop doubled up on 77 minutes when Jordan Clark found the striker and he swept the ball home.
