James Hanson could be back in the AFC Wimbledon squad for the home game against leaders Portsmouth.
Hanson, a summer signing from Sheffield United, has missed the last three matches with a hamstring strain. But boss Neal Ardley is hopeful the 30-year-old striker will be in contention against Pompey.
Wimbledon have failed to score in their last two games and dropped to 20th in the table after a 1-0 loss at Plymouth on Saturday.
Pompey will be without on-loan QPR winger David Wheeler. The 28-year-old suffered an ankle injury against Gillingham last weekend and looks likely to be out until November.
Aston Villa loanee Andre Green is still on the sidelines after undergoing a minor knee operation last month. Dion Donohue scored on his comeback from a hamstring injury against Crawley in the Checkatrade Trophy in midweek to stake his claim for a place in the squad.
AFC Wimbledon have lost each of their last three league meetings with Portsmouth, including both clashes in League One last season.
Portsmouth have already lost to AFC Wimbledon this season, doing so in the first round of the League Cup in August (2-1).
After starting the season unbeaten in their first three games and not conceding a single goal (W1 D2), AFC Wimbeldon have now lost seven of their last nine League One games, shipping sixteen goals in that time (W2).
Portsmouth have won every away league game in which they have scored in this season (5/6), drawing the other 0-0 with Doncaster Rovers.
Brett Pitman has been directly involved in four of Portsmouth's last five goals in League one (two goals, two assists).
AFC Wimbledon have had a difficult run of late, winning just two of their last nine games. They are not losing heavily by any means but are really struggling for goals. No side in League One has scored fewer.
Portsmouth were unbeaten until last week, when they lost at home to a Gillingham side that were in the relegation zone. It just goes to show how tough it is to predict these games! That being said, I'm backing Pompey to bounce back here.
