Barnsley are waiting to learn if Cauley Woodrow will be fit enough to face League One leaders Portsmouth on Saturday.
The striker was forced off in the 54th minute of last weekend's 1-0 loss to Wycombe with an apparent calf problem. Wing-back Dimitri Cavare can return to the side following a one-match suspension which ruled him out last week.
Left-back Dani Pinillos should also be back from illness, but winger Ryan Hedges (toe) and midfielder Kenny Dougall (ankle) remain doubtful.
Ben Thompson is free to play for Portsmouth after the club successfully appealed against the red card he was shown in Tuesday's 2-1 home defeat to Charlton. The midfielder, on loan from Millwall, faced three matches on the sidelines after seeing red in stoppage time.
Midfielder Dion Donohue will hope to feature after the Charlton match came too soon for him in his return from the hamstring injury which has kept him out since October. Winger David Wheeler is also nearing a comeback from a hamstring problem of his own.
Barnsley have only lost once in their last 13 home league meetings with Portsmouth (W10 D2), a 4-1 defeat in September 2001.
Just one of the last 14 league meetings between Barnsley and Portsmouth have ended level (seven Barnsley wins, six Portsmouth), a 4-4 draw in February 2002 - Robert Prosinecki netted a hat-trick for Pompey that day.
Barnsley are one of three League One teams yet to lose at home this season (W5 D4 L0), along with Luton and Sunderland. The Tykes have conceded a league-low six home goals this term.
Portsmouth are just one of three teams unbeaten away from home in the top four tiers this season, along with Liverpool and Mansfield (W8 D2 L0).
Kieffer Moore has been directly involved in five of Barnsley's last six league goals (4 goals, 1 assist).
