Cherries missing banned duo; Cobblers welcome back pair

Bournemouth will hope to apply more pressure at the top of the League Two table when they face Northampton. The second-placed Cherries will be without suspended defenders Marvin Bartley and Warren Cummings. Fellow defender Ryan Garry had his nose reset on Thursday after suffering a break and requiring four stitches during Monday's 2-1 win over Torquay but he should be OK to feature. If Garry is fit, he could move out to left-back with Joe Partington playing in a central defensive role while Anton Robinson should be involved again after returning from a back injury against the Gulls. Scott Guyett, who returned to the side on Boxing Day, will be on stand-by to go into the heart of the defence if needed. But Sammy Igoe is struggling with problems on his right knee and right thigh and it is touch and go as to whether he will feature for Eddie Howe's side. Meanwhile, Mark Molesley is out with a foot injury and could miss the rest of the season while Shaun Cooper (knee) is still a few weeks away from a return.

    Northampton news

Northampton boss Ian Sampson welcomes Andy Holt and John Johnson back into his squad for the trip to Bournemouth - but he will be without Paul Rodgers. Holt sat out the 0-0 draw at Barnet on Monday through a one-game suspension while on-loan Middlesbrough full-back Johnson was ruled out after his initial 93-day stay expired. Johnson has extended his loan now though and will start while Rodgers must now serve a one-match suspension after he accumulated five bookings. Striker Steve Guinan (groin) and Liam Davis (foot) are still ruled out as the Cobblers look for a morale-boosting win. Sampson said: "Steve Guinan's recovery is going quite slowly at the moment and I think he will be out for at least another month. "Liam Davis is still with the physio and I doubt he will figure in the next couple of weeks."
