York City's big day is upon them as they face Bolton Wanderers in the third round of the FA Cup.

Trotters may struggle to fill bench as Minstermen come to town

York City's big day is upon them as they travel to the Reebok Stadium to face Bolton Wanderers in the third round of the FA Cup. The non-league outfit were rewarded for their endeavours in the FA Cup with a trip to Lancashire to face Premier League opposition. York's main strength this season has been their defence and six clean sheets in their last eight games will give them confidence of pulling off an upset. The Minstermen have yet to concede in the cup too, but their rearguard face a huge test this weekend if Johan Elmander and Kevin Davies make an appearance for Bolton. The Trotters have not lost to a team outside the Football League since 1911 and they will be keen to maintain their record as they look to start a run in the cup.

Wanderers manager Owen Coyle looks set to make changes for the visit of the Minstermen though and Elmander and Davies could be given a rest. That would mean a rare start for former Leeds United forward Robbie Blake. Coyle may also decide to give Adam Bogdan the goalkeeper's jersey, as he has done in the Carling Cup, while Martin Petrov could also come into the starting XI after a spell on the bench. Bolton have injury worries and could fail to name the maximum amount of substitutes with Gretar Steinsson, Stuart Holden, Jlloyd Samuel, Ricardo Gardner, Joey O'Brien and Sean Davis all currently in the treatment room. Korean international Lee Chung-yong is also away on international duty at the Asia Cup in Qatar while Tamir Cohen is on compassionate leave in Israel following the death of his father, and Harrogate-born centre-back Andy O'Brien has completed a move to Leeds. York manager Gary Mills has a full squad to choose from apart from Andre Boucaud, who is cup-tied. City's Robbie Weir has been passed fit for Saturday's clash after surviving dropping a ten-pin bowling ball on his ankle during a team bonding session this week. Levi Mackin is also available after missing training due to the birth of his baby daughter.
