Highlights of the Championship match between Bristol City and Rotherham at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City and Rotherham both edged a point closer to Sky Bet Championship safety after a 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate.

Matt Derbyshire took advantage of a Football Association reprieve to fire the Millers in front after 12 minutes but that was cancelled out by Peter Odemwingie's crashing effort in the second half.

With MK Dons losing at home to Wolves both sides settled for the draw, which means City are now seven points clear of the drop zone and Rotherham six.

For Neil Warnock's side it is the continuation of an impressive run of form which sees them stretch their unbeaten run to seven games and puts them in good shape ahead of Saturday's blockbusting trip to Milton Keynes.

Lee Johnson's men might consider themselves unlucky not to win as they forced Millers goalkeeper Lee Camp into some fine saves, but a point does at least see them bounce back from Saturday's mauling at Hull.

Given their recent run, it was no surprise to see the Millers playing with confidence and they took the lead in the 12th minute, with a top quality finish.

Derbyshire, who started the day not knowing whether he was ineligible or not as the club were waiting on an appeal to his red card at the weekend, superbly plucked Richard Wood's long ball out of the air and coolly lifted it over the on-rushing Richard O'Donnell.

The Robins tried to mount a response but found life frustrating against a Millers side who put 10 men behind the ball and their fans took it out on referee Gavin Ward, berating him for every decision that did not go their way.

They almost had something to cheer just before the half hour, though, as they would have been level had it not been for a superb save from Camp.

Aden Flint climbed highest from Lee Tomlin's corner and produced a powerful header only for Camp to acrobatically tip it over.

The hosts continued to enjoy the territorial advantage but created little else, with Tomlin dragging a shot wide and Joe Bryan failing to test Camp with a tame shot the best of their efforts.

Lee Johnson's men eventually got their reward with an equalising goal nine minutes after the restart.

The Millers failed to clear a cross and it fell to Odemwingie, who lashed home from 14 yards with an emphatic finish.

Now rampant, the hosts would have fancied grabbing a quickfire second, but the Millers took the sting out of it well and came back into the game.

Richie Smallwood had a chance to restore their lead, but he fired over from the edge of the area and Joe Mattock's free-kick was easy for O'Donnell.

Back came Bristol City and Camp was forced into another superb save as he got down low to keep out Odemwigie's header from six yards.

Rotherham could have snatched it as Danny Ward's flicked effort troubled O'Donnell at the near post, but it was Camp who was the hero for Rotherham with another low save to deny Jonathan Kodjia in the last meaningful action of the game.
