Elliott could be fit for Pirates; Melligan in line for O's return

Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient lock horns at the Memorial Stadium in League One on Saturday. The Pirates are aiming for back-back-back wins after they ended a run of six games without success last weekend, while the visitors are in desperate need of three points, having lost three of their last four. Bristol Rovers defender Steve Elliott is hoping to be passed fit for the encounter. Elliot missed last weekend's 1-0 victory over Colchester after suffering a dead leg against Crewe, but is confident of a speedy return to action. Left-back Joe Jacobson has recovered from the knee ligament damage he sustained in pre-season but will not be available as he is away on international duty with Wales Under 21s. Ryan Green could miss out again after he limped out of the Crewe game two weeks ago with a recurrence of a hamstring problem that reduced him to the sidelines last weekend. However, Pirates boss Paul Trollope will be reluctant to make changes after last week's win at Colchester extended his side's unbeaten run to three games.

Orient team news

Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling welcomes back midfielder JJ Melligan for the trip to Bristol Rovers. The former Republic of Ireland Under 21 international missed the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Brighton through illness but is expected to be fit to travel west. Ling is likely to recall first-choice goalkeeper Glenn Morris for the clash despite praising the performance of deputy Jamie Jones in the penalty shoot-out loss at the Withdean Stadium. On-loan Luton striker Dean Morgan remains doubtful with a foot injury that has seen him miss the last three games. Teenage winger Harry Baker will hope to be involved after impressing on his debut against the Seagulls, while defenders Tamika Mkandawire (groin) and Danny Granville (hernia) have returned to training but this game will come too soon for them. Forward Wayne Gray (knee) and winger Loick Pires (knee) remain on the injury list.
