Bristol Rovers v Portsmouth preview

Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke could name an unchanged team for the Sky Bet League One visit of Portsmouth.
Rovers are going in search of successive league wins after Saturday's victory at Wycombe and goalkeeper Adam Smith looks set to retain his place ahead of Sam Slocombe after impressing at Adams Park.
Midfielder Chris Lines and forwards Gavin Reilly and Alex Rodman are hoping for recalls.
Portsmouth remain without Dion Donohue as they attempt to continue their 100 per cent start in the league. The Welsh midfielder has returned to training following a groin injury but will not be available at the Memorial Stadium.
On-loan midfielder Ben Thompson is fit to feature, despite a recent knee problem. Pompey boss Kenny Jackett has no other selection issues following Saturday's 4-1 victory over Oxford.
Bristol Rovers and Portsmouth haven't played out a draw in any competition since a 1-1 draw in April 1982 in a third tier fixture (17 games since).
Portsmouth have won 12 of the last 17 meetings in all competitions (L5), however, Bristol Rovers did win the most recent clash 2-1 in January.
After failing to draw in 21 successive league matches at home between March 2017 and February 2018 (W14 L7), Bristol Rovers have drawn six of their last eight such games (W1 L1).
Portsmouth are looking to win their first four matches of a new league season for the first time since the 1980/81 campaign when they were also in the third tier of English football.
Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett has never drawn a league match with Bristol Rovers, winning six and losing seven of the 13 previous such games.
