Burton dropped home points for the first time under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as 10-man AFC Wimbledon battled to a 0-0 draw.

Despite having defender Mark Phillips sent off in the second half, the Londoners ended Albion's run of six straight wins on their own turf since the Dutchman took charge. The Dons were under pressure for much of the first half but made it to the break unscathed. The nearest Burton came to a goal was in the eighth minute when Adam McGurk headed a Lucas Akins cross against a post. Wimbledon relied heavily on breakaway attacks but could have stolen the lead when Alfie Potter fired against the legs of home goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin. And it was Potter who twice had chances to punish some unusually slack Burton defending straight after the restart. The winger fired one shot across the face of goal and saw another effort cleared off the line by Tom Naylor. McGurk squandered an opportunity to put Burton in front before Phillips was shown a straight red card after clashing with home striker Stuart Beavon in the 65th minute. The Dons soaked up late pressure and held on to stretch their unbeaten run to four games, while Hasselbaink saw his side replaced at the top of the table by Shrewsbury.
