Constantine brace not enough as Burton take all three points

Aaron Webster grabbed a late winner for Burton after Hereford had twice battled from behind in a 3-2 thriller at the Pirelli Stadium. The game seemed to be heading for a draw after doubles from Burton's Shaun Harrad and Hereford counterpart Leon Constantine. But full-back Webster sealed it for Paul Peschisolido's team when he rose to head home a John McGrath free-kick in the 87th minute. It was Hereford who went nearest to breaking the stalemate in a largely incident-free first half. Gavin McCallum stole in at the far post to have a header blocked in the 36th minute and was then denied by the fingertips of Burton goalkeeper Artur Krysiak after retrieving the loose ball. The game came to life after Harrad had given Burton the lead in the 50th minute by punishing slack marking to rifle home a 15-yard shot. Constantine converted Gavin McCallum's cross with a diving header to put the Bulls level in the 61st minute, only to give away a penalty two minutes later. The striker was adjudged to have handled Webster's header and Harrad stepped up to drill Burton in front from the spot. But Constantine's eventful afternoon continued when he headed the Bulls level for the second time from Ryan Valentine's cross in the 76th minute, but Webster had the final say.
