Branston returns for hosts as Silkmen could be unchanged

Burton Albion welcome back Guy Branston from suspension for the visit of Macclesfield Town, who could be unchanged. Experienced defender Branston served a one-match ban against Bournemouth at the weekend following his red card in the defeat by Dagenham & Redbridge. Veteran Darren Stride made his first start of the season as Branston's replacement on the South Coast. Following the late 1-0 loss, Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido must decide whether to recall his summer signing or stick with the club's longest-serving player. Should Stride feature at the Pirelli Stadium it will mark his 650th appearance for Burton. Aaron Brown could also be involved for Burton after the former Reading defender signed an initial one-month deal after impressing for the reserves this season. Peschisolido has options available if he wishes to freshen things up, with Aaron Webster, Jacques Maghoma, Jimmy Phillips, Greg Pearson and Andrew Corbett all pushing for places.

Macclesfield news

Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander will be reluctant to make changes when his side travel to Burton. The Silkmen beat Torquay 2-1 at Moss Rose on Saturday to record only their second win of the League Two campaign. A second-half double from Algerian midfielder Hamza Bencherif gave Macclesfield their first win in six games and eased the pressure on Alexander. Striker Kyle Wilson is nursing a groin injury sustained in training and could miss out again. Defender Sean Hessey is still undergoing rehabilitation for a knee problem and has yet to feature this season. But Alexander has no other concerns and said of Bencherif: "The lad has certainly got ability and will make even more of an impact when he has some games under his belt."
