Highlights from the clash at the Pirelli Stadium

League One leaders Burton had to settle for a point on Saturday after a hard-fought 0-0 draw at home with Oldham.

The relegation-threatened visitors put in an impressive performance at the Pirelli Stadium but could not find a way through the best defence in the division.

The closest either side came to breaking the deadlock was when Burton's Tom Flanagan headed against the bar from a corner in the first half.

The draw sees Burton extend their lead at the top of the table to four points while Oldham remain in the bottom four but edge closer to safety.

The visitors looked the brighter side in the first half but it was Burton who almost took the lead when Lucas Akins nipped in front of goalkeeper Joel Coleman and saw his shot blocked by a defender.

On the half hour, Mike Jones' corner caught in the wind and almost crept over the line but Burton goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin punched clear.

Just before the break, Flanagan climbed above Carl Winchester but saw his header from a corner rattle the crossbar with what proved to be the closest the two sides would come to a goal.

Oldham were the better team after half-time but continued to find it tough to create chances.

At the other end, Mark Duffy's 25-yard free-kick was well struck and on target but pushed behind for a corner by Coleman as the game ended in a stalemate.
