Crystal Palace v Man City preview: Blues travel to Selhurst Park on Monday Night Football

Crystal Palace welcome Premier League champions Manchester City to Selhurst Park on Monday Night Football.

Manuel Pellegrini's side have seen their title chase falter over the past month, losing two of their last four games, but will look to form a late push to retain their crown.

Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace were in impressive form before the international period, winning three of their last four league games.

City won the reverse fixture 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium in December thanks to Yaya Toure and a David Silva double.

Team news

Pardew has on-loan striker Yaya Sanogo available after the Palace boss confirmed he has recovered from a hamstring problem, but he may choose to start the Arsenal man on the bench at the Etihad Stadium.

The Monday Night Football offering this week is Crystal Palace v Manchester City. Jamie Redknapp previews the game.

Manchester City have no serious injury concerns ahead of Monday night's game. Yaya Toure missed the victory over West Brom a fortnight ago with an Achilles injury, but has since played twice for Ivory Coast and is fit.

Fellow midfielder James Milner has also been troubled by a knee injury in recent weeks but the suggestions from manager Manuel Pellegrini are that the England international will be available.

Opta facts

Man City have won the last seven matches in a row against Palace in all competitions.

The Eagles have now gone 11 Premier League matches at Selhurst Park without a clean sheet.

Crystal Palace Alan Pardew is delighted with the club's financial situation

Alan Pardew has won 20 points from losing positions as a Premier League manager this season (10 at Newcastle, 10 at Palace); more than any other PL boss in 2014-15.

Sergio Aguero has scored 98 goals in all competitions for Manchester City, but he has not netted in 466 minutes of competitive football for the club.

Merson's prediction

Selhurst Park is not an easy place to go, especially when you are in the race for the title and have to have a go at them. That plays into Palace’s hands because Alan Pardew’s side is a good counter-attacking side with lots of pace.
But is City play to the level we know they can they can beat absolutely anybody.

Glenn Murray says he's been given the chance to re-ignite his Crystal Palace career under Alan Pardew

If Chelsea win, as I expect them to, then it makes Monday Night Football very entertaining. This is a must-win game for the visitors if they want to stay in touch at the top and also in terms of the race for second if both Manchester United and Arsenal win. For that reason I cannot back against them.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-3

Betting

Manchester City are 4/6 favourites with Sky Bet to record their first away win in three Premier League matches when they visit Crystal Palace on Monday. Defeats at Liverpool and Burnley mean City are now 16/1 shots to claw back a six-point deficit on Chelsea and retain their crown. There will be plenty of punters taking the 4/1 about Palace, who have won three of their last four, adding to City's away day blues, while the draw is 14/5.

It's six matches since the Eagles kept a clean sheet though, and with the likes of Sergio Aguero (100/30 to score first) and Wilfried Bony (4/1) in their ranks there will be plenty backing both teams to score. David Silva scored twice in the 3-0 win for the Citizens over Palace in December and the Spanish midfielder is 11/4 to net anytime on Monday, while in-form Glenn Murray is 7/2 to extend to extend his goalscoring run.
