Cardiff are hoping to keep their play-off hopes alive with a win against Blackpool at Ninian Park.

Bluebirds and Tangerines clash at Ninian Park

Cardiff are hoping to build on their Wembley triumph and keep their play-off hopes alive with a win against Blackpool at Ninian Park. The Bluebirds have lost four of their last six league fixtures and trail Crystal Palace by five points in the battle for the final play-off position. The Tangerines are lingering perilously close to the relegation zone and defeat could leave them in the bottom three come the end of the weekend's fixtures.

Jones to shuffle

Cardiff boss Dave Jones has no new injury concerns to report ahead of the visit of Blackpool. As expected, Jones shuffled his pack for Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Ipswich and the Bluebirds manager admitted after the game that his side are 'running on reserves right now'. That means there could be returns to the side for Peter Whittingham, Trevor Sinclair and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who all came on as second-half substitutes against Town. Paul Parry has missed the FA Cup finalists' last two games with a hamstring strain and remains a doubt to face the Seasiders. Darcy Blake is again on stand-by to deputise at right-back if Kevin McNaughton fails to recover from the back problem which kept him out of the trip to East Anglia. Robbie Fowler is closing in on a return following a hip injury but the game will come too soon for the former Liverpool striker, while Warren Feeney also definitely misses out.
McPhee concern
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson could name an unchanged side for the trip down to the Welsh capital. The Seasiders were unchanged during Tuesday's 3-1 home reverse at the hands of West Brom and largely outplayed Tony Mowbray's men. Grayson's only concern is striker Steven McPhee, who went off in the closing stages due to cramp and was replaced by on loan Manchester City striker Paul Dickov. However, McPhee should be passed fit to take his place in attack alongside Ben Burgess at Ninian Park.
