Carlisle failed to improve on a run of just one win in eight despite taking a first-half lead in a 1-1 draw with Northampton.
The visitors quickly countered Lewis Neal's 37th-minute effort with an equaliser from Luke Guttridge before half-time and held on for a point despite sustained second-half pressure from the Cumbrians.
Northampton had the best of the early chances with Adebayo Akinfenwa seeing a drive cannon back off a post, before Neal gave Carlisle the lead after being played in by Michael Bridges.
Liam Davis then hit the bar for Northampton, before they got a deserved leveller when Guttridge pounced from close range after Ben Williams had fumbled a low effort from Davis.
Northampton had Danny Jackman to thank for keeping the scores even in the second half when he scrambled Neal's corner off the line.
Bridges then hit the bar before being substituted - a decision which brought boos from the home fans.
