      Paul Hayes netted a second-half equaliser to earn a valuable point for promotion-chasing Scunthorpe at Carlisle.

      Hayes equalises after Anyinsah opens scoring

      A second-half strike from Paul Hayes denied Carlisle the opportunity to move further away from the relegation zone as Scunthorpe secured a 1-1 draw. Gary Hooper missed an early chance to put Scunthorpe in front and he was made to pay in the 19th minute when Joe Anyinsah bundled the ball home from close range for his fourth goal of the season. But the Cumbrians were unable to hold on to their advantage as the experienced Hayes snatched a 69th minute leveller. He drifted into the box and beat Ben Williams with a clinical finish to secure a valuable point for Nigel Adkins' side, who are just a point off the play-offs.
