Veteran midfielder suspended for Cumbrians in relegation clash

Carlisle and Swindon lock horns at Brunton Park in a League One relegation six-pointer and the Cumbrians will be without suspended midfielder Graham Kavanagh for the visit of the Robins. The 35-year-old must serve a two-match ban after picking up his 10th yellow card of the season in Good Friday's 1-1 draw with Oldham. Captain Paul Thirlwell trained on Thursday following a calf problem and will be in contention for a place providing he suffers no ill-effects. Defender Ian Harte also took part in that training session as he recovers from breaking two bones in his hand on his Cumbrians' debut against Northampton last month. But winger Joe Anyinsah (hamstring), defender Danny Livesey (tendinitis), midfielder Marc Bridge-Wilkinson (toe) and goalkeeper Chris Howarth (broken leg) all remain sidelined while on-loan defender Michael Liddle returned to Sunderland last week to have his groin/hernia problem assessed.

Timlin blow

Swindon will be without Michael Timlin for the trip to Brunton Park. The midfielder has featured in 40 of Swindon's 43 league games this season - but he will miss the next two having picked up his 10th booking against Brighton. The Robins know victory would go a huge way towards securing their League One status and make it extremely difficult for them to be caught by those below. Defender Sean Morrison remains doubtful due to a knee injury, with Jerel Ifil expected to continue at the heart of defence. Jon-Paul McGovern made the bench for Easter Monday's disappointing home defeat to Leyton Orient and he will again be in the frame, but fellow midfielder Patrick Kanyuka (groin) remains out injured.
