The Bhoys have a 100 per cent home record in the group stage of Europe's prestigious club competition in the last two seasons with six wins out of a possible six. Celtic go into the match full of confidence following their 4-2 weekend success over Motherwell, while Danish champions Aalborg suffered a 2-0 home reverse against AGF Aarhus. That defeat was their fourth of the season from just seven outings, leaving them down the table in ninth place well behind leaders Odense BK.

      Fully-fit

Parkhead manager Gordon Strachan has a fully-fit squad to choose from, although striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink missed training on Tuesday due to the imminent arrival of his new baby. Experienced midfielder Paul Hartley is fit after recovering from the neck injury that kept him out of the weekend win at Fir Park, while Mark Wilson has shrugged off a knee injury picked up in the same game. The group stage of the Champions League is somewhat uncharted territory for the Danish club, although they have competed at this level having reached the same stage back in 1995. Aalborg displayed their credentials on British soil last season after racing into a 2-0 lead against Spurs at White Hart Lane before eventually succumbing to a 3-2 defeat in North London.
      Bogelund out
Just two members of the visitors' squad have performed before on European club football's highest platform - and one of them, Denmark full-back Kasper Bogelund, will miss the curtain-raiser through injury. Aalborg will also be without midfielder Siyabonge Nomvethe, who has been on the sidelines since May with a long-term knee injury. Celtic will need to keep a close eye on Brazilian Caca who has found the back of the net three times in league competition while former Southampton man Marek Saganowski is yet to score for his new club. The Poland international is likely to partner Jeppe Curth in the visitors' forward line.
