Charlton v Dagenham preview

Image: Abbott: Eyeing start

Pawel Abbott is pushing for a return to the Charlton starting line-up, while Dagenham have no new injury worries.

Striker pushing for return to starting line-up for Addicks

Pawel Abbott is pushing for a return to the Charlton starting line-up for the visit of Dagenham. Abbott was an unused substitute at Tranmere last weekend after complaining of a slight calf strain. The Polish striker could start in attack alongside Paul Benson, who will be facing his former club and is still looking for his first Addicks goal. Goalkeeper Rob Elliot is still out with an elbow injury so Ross Worner or West Brom loanee Luke Daniels will start - Worner got the nod at Prenton Park last week. Skipper Christian Dailly remains sidelined with a fractured eye socket and fellow defenders Chris Solly (ankle) and Kelly Youga (knee) join him in the treatment room.

Daggers news

Dagenham boss John Still has no new injury worries ahead of the trip. But the game may come too soon for defenders Will Antwi and Abu Ogogo, who continue to struggle with hamstring and ankle injuries respectively. Bas Savage will be hoping for his first start after two substitute appearances for his new club. The experienced frontman was brought in by Still to address the club's goalscoring issues - just six goals scored in eight league games this season - but is yet to start a game despite impressing as a substitute. Josh Scott could drop down to the bench to make way for Savage after failing to score in eight appearances so far this season but Still is set to keep faith with summer signing Gavin Tomlin who is yet to find the net in five starts.
