Lyle Taylor struck twice as Charlton came from a goal down to beat Luton 3-1 and end the League One leaders' long unbeaten run.

Luton came into the match having not tasted defeat in 28 league fixtures and they looked set to continue that run at The Valley when Harry Cornick gave them an early lead.

However, Taylor drew Charlton level from the penalty spot in the 54th minute and strike partner Igor Vetokele then put the hosts ahead with 20 minutes remaining.

Taylor quickly added a third and Luton, who had Andrew Shinnie sent off late on, could find no way back.

The high-flying Hatters took the lead in the 15th minute when Cornick fired past Dillon Phillips into the top right corner of the goal.

Taylor hit the crossbar in the 28th minute, but promotion hopefuls Charlton did not offer much else until the second half.

After the break, Taylor was pushed to the ground in the 54th minute by Sonny Bradley to hand the Addicks a penalty which Taylor calmly converted.

Vetokele turned provider two minutes later as Charlton made it 3-1, the Angolan forward crossing for Taylor who struck the ball low past James Shea from six yards out to seal the win.

Luton's misery was completed in the 88th minute when Shinnie was dismissed after picking up a second yellow card for a late challenge, having already been booked for a cynical foul in the first half.
