Charlton v Sheff Utd preview

Image: Haynes (r): Could make his Charlton debut

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Charlton and Sheffield United at The Valley.

Danny Haynes could make his Charlton debut when the leaders host promotion rivals Sheffield United. The striker became the latest addition to manager Chris Powell's bulging squad when he was signed from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee last week. Powell has a fully-fit squad to choose from after midfielder Dale Stephens recovered from the ankle injury which had sidelined him since October. Powell now has so many options winger Scott Wagstaff and striker Paul Hayes, who were regulars for the first half of the season, did not even make the bench for last weekend's 1-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday. That victory left the Addicks four points clear of the second-placed Blades and seven ahead of Huddersfield in third. Sheffield United winger Ryan Flynn could return to the squad. Flynn has missed the last two games through illness but has proved his fitness this week and will be in contention. Manager Danny Wilson has no new injury or suspension problems and is unlikely to change his starting line-up following successive wins over Yeovil (4-0) and Bury (3-0). Defender Marcus Williams, midfielder Nick Montgomery and striker James Beattie may have to settle for a place on the substitutes' bench again as the Blades look to cut the gap on leaders Charlton to a single point. Defender Andy Taylor, sidelined for over a year with knee ligament damage, is edging closer to a return but will not be rushed back as he builds up his match fitness. The Blades have won 11 of their last 12 games in all competitions.
