Chesterfield boss John Sheridan will have Frankie Artus available for one final time before the midfielder returns to parent club Bristol City.
Aaron Downes, who had returned from an eight-month absence with ligament damage, was forced off against Port Vale on 9th February after suffering another injury to the same knee.
The Australian centre-half will see a specialist in the near future but early indications suggest he is unlikely to play again this season.
Striker Jack Lester is still recovering from knee surgery and is not expected back until the end of March or early April.
Aldershot have a fitness doubt over top scorer Marvin Morgan after he came off at half-time in the midweek home defeat by Dagenham complaining of a back injury.
The striker will be monitored closely ahead of the game but boss Kevin Dillon could have a ready-made replacement available as on-loan Bristol City forward Marlon Jackson is nearing his return to full fitness.
Jackson has missed the last five games with a knee injury but has a chance of being in contention to face the Spireites.
Defender Dave Winfield is definitely fit after recovering from a bout of food poisoning, but former Reading midfielder John Halls remains sidelined with a groin complaint.
Striker John Grant joined Blue Square Premier side Oxford on loan this week until the end of the season but Omer Riza could take his place in the squad after signing as a free agent on Thursday.
