Jack Lester's stoppage-time header clinched Chesterfield a point in a 1-1 draw at the B2net Stadium to deny Stevenage.
Lester struck in the sixth minute of time added on to cancel out Darius Charles' 40th-minute header. Both teams had created some promising positions without carving out a clear chance until Stevenage opened the scoring. A deep corner was headed back by Michael Bostwick and Charles applied the final touch standing on the line. Chesterfield should have equalised before half-time, but Lester headed Drew Talbot's cross against a post from two yards. Lester fired just wide in the 62nd minute, but the visitors were reduced to 10 men four minutes later when Bostwick was sent off for a second yellow card when he caught Mark Allott late. Stevenage looked like holding out, but Lester had the last word when he got between two defenders to head in Dean Morgan's cross.
