Kurtis Guthrie has been ruled out of Colchester's midweek clash against Coventry with an ankle injury.
The striker will miss Tuesday's clash after sustaining the problem following a heavy tackle in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Carlisle.
Sean Murray is fit after making a rapid recovery from his own ankle issue while Brennan Dickenson continues his comeback from a long-term knee injury. Yet midfielder Louis Dunne is in the early stages of recovery from his own cruciate knee ligament surgery.
Michael Doyle is likely to be out for a number of weeks with a knee injury as Coventry look to bounce back from two defeats. The midfielder missed his first game of the season, Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Accrington, having played with the problem in the previous two games.
Tom Bayliss and Marc McNulty have been battling illness and Jack Grimmer remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. Lee Burge is also struggling with a knee injury but was on the bench against Accrington with boss Mark Robins having no other back-up goalkeeper.
Colchester have won just one of their last six home league games against Coventry (D1 L4), conceding 13 goals in the last five alone.
The Sky Blues have won neither of the two most recent matches against the U's (D1 L1) and failed to find the net in both; they last went three without a win over them in the Football League in October 1963 (D2 L1).
Sammie Szmodics has had a hand in 14 league goals for Colchester this season (12 goals, 2 assists), five more than any other U's player.
Coventry have faced fewer shots on target than any other side in League Two this season (94).
