Colchester v MK Dons preview

Image: Wordsworth: Set to return

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Colchester United and MK Dons at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Leading scorer Anthony Wordsworth returns but Magnus Okuonghae is suspended as Colchester aim to cut the gap between themselves and the top six. Wordsworth, who has seven goals this season, is back in contention having missed last weekend's 4-1 FA Cup first-round triumph at Crewe following the birth of his child. However, central defender Okuonghae was shown his fifth yellow card of the season in the encounter and will now serve an automatic one-match suspension. Left-back Ben Coker (knee) should be okay despite only returning to training on Thursday having been on the end of a poor challenge which saw Crewe's Ashley Westwood dismissed at Gresty Road. Goalkeeper Mark Cousins made his long-awaited return to the bench for the cup tie having finally overcome his shoulder injury but striker Steven Gillespie (hamstring), midfielder John-Joe O'Toole (groin) and centre-back Pat Baldwin (fractured toe) are not yet ready. MK Dons expect to be at full strength as a host of players return to contention. Mark Beevers was unavailable against Nantwich in the FA Cup under the terms of his loan from Sheffield Wednesday while Adam Smith (England Under-21s), Ian McLoughlin (Republic of Ireland Under-21s) and Gary MacKenzie (Scotland) all missed the first-round tie because of international duty. Stephen Gleeson was rested against the non-league club while Darren Potter and Dean Lewington were nursing knocks. Manager Karl Robinson made six changes to his starting line-up last weekend and it is likely to be a similar story on Saturday. Tom Flanagan, George Baldock and Adam Chicksen started against Nantwich while teenagers Leon Lobjoit, George Williams, Brendan Galloway and Dele Alli were included on the bench.
